Warm light Whisper | Southern Landscape Oil Painting

There is a specific quality of light in the south—golden, heavy, and timeless. This landscape is my memory of that heat. I wanted to convey the silence of a summer afternoon, where the only sound is the wind in the trees and the distant hum of nature. It is a place of escape.

I used warm ochres, burnt sienna, and olive greens to build the temperature of the scene. The texture of the ground is rough and organic, created with layers of paint to mimic the dry earth, contrasting with the soft, billowing foliage of the trees. It is a window into an eternal summer.
