         I’ve always been fascinated by how the garden changes after dark, when a single white bloom starts to glow in the shadows like a small, solitary lamp in the middle of a dark room.There is a profound silence that falls over the garden just as the light begins to fade. This painting is about that solitude. Unlike the chaotic energy of the day, this piece focuses on a single, glowing subject in moon light set against the encroaching darkness. It is intimate, dramatic, and quiet.

        I employed a strong contrast—bordering on Tenebrism—to isolate the flower. The water is painted in deep, nearly black tones, which forces the white and cream of the lily to glow with an internal light. The background retreats, pushing the flower forward so it feels suspended in the void.

        The brushwork here is more controlled. I wanted the light to feel soft and diffused, like a lamp in a dark room. The texture serves to catch the light on the petals, reinforcing the illusion that the canvas itself is a source of illumination.
